Wedding florist in Abu-Dhabi Kate told me about wedding trends.
Most wedding flower trends 2027 lists show perfect flowers in perfect light. Real weddings don’t work like that. I photograph small weddings in Abu Dhabi, so I read these forecasts with one question: how will this look in a photo?
Here is what planners and florists expect, and what I think it means for your day.

Six wedding flower trends for 2027, and what I think of them
1. Fewer, bigger flower moments
Forecasts point away from a small arrangement on every table. They point toward one large installation, like a floral piece running between long tables. Wedding planner Sunna Yassin told Who What Wear that florals are becoming more architectural.
For photos, this is good news. One big backdrop gives me a reliable place for portraits.
2. One flower, repeated
The Knot’s 2027 report names monofloral weddings as a trend. The Wed also expects single-bloom arrangements, with orchids, allium and clematis in the lead. One flower type makes a frame calm and easy to read.
3. Whimsical and airy
Loose, garden-style designs with room between the stems keep gaining ground. They move with a breeze. They also catch soft light well.
4. Smaller bouquets
Who What Wear reports that bouquets are shifting toward one or two flower types. I like this. A simple bouquet stays visible in close-ups and doesn’t hide your hands.
5. Bolder color
Florist industry speakers expect warmer, richer palettes. The Wed highlights shades like vivid violet and peony pink. Bold color is fun, but think about your outfit first. Bring a fabric swatch to the florist.
6. Seasonal and sustainable
Florists also talk about seasonal materials and more personal designs. Is this a real shift or a nice phrase? Probably both. Ask your florist what is actually in season where you marry.
Do these trends fit a small wedding?
Yes, and they fit small weddings better than big ones. Industry talks even list micro weddings with smaller, more meaningful guest lists as part of the 2027 picture. With fewer guests, you can skip the table flowers and spend on one strong moment.

Don’t copy a trend because it’s trending. If a wild meadow bouquet isn’t you, skip it. You will see these photos for decades. The trend will be gone in two years.
Heat, light and flowers in Abu Dhabi
Trend lists rarely mention climate. In the UAE, they should. These are the questions I would ask before you decide:
- Which flowers hold up outdoors and for how long?
- Where will the installation stand, in sun or in shade?
- Does the color work with your outfit at sunset?
- Can the bouquet be kept cool until the ceremony?
- Is there a plan B if the wind picks up?
If you plan a small wedding here, my intimate wedding photography in Abu Dhabi sessions are built around calm light and simple details.
Wedding decor ideas that pair well with these trends
- Keep decor simple and let one floral piece lead.
- Choose a backdrop that works for portraits, not only for the ceremony.
- Match the flower color to your outfit, not only to the table.
- Plan a few quiet minutes to photograph the details before guests arrive.

The one idea to keep
The best wedding flowers don’t follow a trend. They fit your venue, your outfit and the light. Choose what feels like you, then let the photos do the rest.
If you could spend on only one floral moment, what would it be?
If you’re planning a wedding in Abu Dhabi, I’d be happy to talk about how your flowers and your day will look in photos.
